Kirsty & Ricky

Kirsty and Ricky’s March wedding was an elegant ode to monochrome. Against the early spring light, the trees had not yet bloomed.

So their bold choice to completely omit the traditional green foilage was right on point. Instead, shape and form created the most distinctive of visions.

What made you choose Hampton Manor?
Food was always going to be a huge priority for us, so Hampton Manor instantly stood out. From our first visit, it felt like the perfect setting for our wedding weekend. Being able to host 55 of our overnight guests at Grace & Savour the following day was such a highlight and one of the main reasons we chose it, we absolutely fell in love with all the spaces.
The fact we could stay the night before with our four children and my parents in the cottage made it even more special, it felt like home. On top of that, it’s just around the corner from us, so we get to revisit all the time. The bakery has become the ultimate treat, which makes returning even more magical.

Tell us about the inspiration for the styling of the day
The ceremony was central to my vision. I wanted something a little different, where our guests surrounded us. We chose a runway-style aisle with a slightly raised plinth, creating a modern, immersive experience.
Cloud-like arrangements of white hydrangeas and roses carried seamlessly from the ceremony into the reception. Because we were marrying in a season where it was dark before dinner had finished, it was really important to me that the wedding breakfast was lit by natural candlelight. We paired the florals with ivory Ester & Erik candles in gold holders, creating a warm, elegant glow that gave the space a soft, romantic atmosphere and made the evening feel truly magical.

Finishing touches like personalised menus, soft gold accents, a statement welcome mirror, a bespoke Ciara Aloisio bloom wishing well, and the acrylic chairs all worked together to create a complementary and cohesive feel. The overall aesthetic was intended to be timeless and neutral, with a curated simplicity that felt both intentional and effortless. We also carried this vision into the attire, with the wedding party in similar tones and guests dressed in all black to enhance the elegant, modern feel.

I wore the Milla Nova Rita two-piece mikado mermaid gown. I loved its timeless elegance, the heart-shaped draped bow neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and fitted skirt with a train felt so flattering and feminine. To finish the look, I wore a custom blusher veil by Candice at The Bridal & Sewing Studio, delicately adorned with tiny pearls, which gave just the right amount of subtle detail.

We know it was important for your children to feel involved in your big day. How did you go about that?

Family was at the heart of our day. Our daughter’s welcome speech and having all four children cut the cake together were some of the most meaningful moments for us. Their involvement wasn’t just symbolic, it made the celebration feel truly complete.

They were also a big part of why we chose to wait to get married, so we could share the experience with them at an age where they’d remember it and feel part of it. We decided not to have a traditional bridal or grooms’ party and instead had our children by our side. Our eldest son proudly carried the rings, while our daughters handed out single-stem roses to our nearest and dearest as they walked down the aisle, such a beautiful touch that made for the most special photos.

What was your favourite moment?
Our daughter’s welcome speech at the wedding breakfast will stay with us forever! Her words were so heartfelt and touching, we were bursting with pride. Another unforgettable moment was when our four children cut the cake together, which felt like such a meaningful way to include them in the day.
The food not only looked beautiful but tasted just as incredible, it’s rare to say that every bite is memorable, but it truly was.
We absolutely loved the residents-only chill-out after the party (15 bedrooms are part of Hampton Manor’s exclusive use weddings), it was the moment we could really let our hair down and celebrate with our closest family and friends once the formalities were over. It was such a joyful, carefree part of the day for us where we could simply just have fun together, without worrying about anything.
The following day in Grace & Savour was just as special, super relaxed and we had the chance to enjoy all the different spaces of the manor.
It truly felt like a weekend retreat rather than just a wedding. Even though it went by so quickly, I felt fully present and able to savour every single moment.
Every single one of our suppliers was incredible. Their knowledge, creativity, and professionalism made the whole process seamless. Each complemented the other perfectly, and I’m endlessly grateful to them all for bringing our vision to life.
