Hannah & Jon

What made you choose Hampton Manor?
We booked the venue with only 5.5 months to go until the big day and we felt confident that Hampton Manor would have the experience, support and suppliers to bring everything together in such a short space of time.
We had some experience at Hampton Manor previously, as we had stayed at the Cottage and done wine tasting plus a meal at Smoke (now Kynd) with some friends and absolutely loved it. When we looked into Hampton Manor as a wedding venue, we thought the courtyard was the perfect place to bring our autumn wedding vibe to life.

You chose a church wedding for meaningful reasons…
We knew we wanted to get married at my family Church in Edgbaston, as this is where my parents were married, where my sister and I were christened, and where my Dad and Grandparents are laid to rest.

You got married on the 26th Oct, how did the season look for you?
When Jon and I arrived at Hampton Manor after the Church, we were pleasantly surprised to find our guests all stood outside soaking up some unexpected October sun! We were so pleased we were able to have our drinks reception outside due to the amazing weather! The band moved outside and all our guests were able to enjoy the wonderful surroundings.
Hampton Manor in Autumn is just magical.

Tell us about the inspiration for the styling of the day.
The main thing is that we wanted the day to feel uplifting and fun. From a styling perspective, we wanted colour, with pops of pink and blue, lots of candles. and seasonal flowers. We wanted the wedding breakfast to feel like an intimate dinner party… but for 100 people. Hampton Manor’s orangery style courtyard is perfect for this and we went for trestle tables set up which we loved. The room was then transformed in to the dance floor, which we were on all night!!

What was your favourite food memory?
I have to say the wedding tasting before the wedding was a real highlight for us. We had the most opulent Monday evening perhaps of our lives! We were able to sample the seasonal food and drinks menu and make our selections for the big day. We also had a great time meeting other couples and hearing their plans and how we were each transforming Hampton Manor in different ways to suit our styles. It was so much fun and a really special memory for us.
On the wedding day, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and a number of our guests commented on it being the best wedding food they’d ever tried. We loved sitting there during the meal and watching all our guests chat and have a lovely time.

What was your favourite memory?
We put on a Cake and Cocktail Hour after the wedding breakfast in the Manor House, which had a super fun feel to it and we really enjoyed it. Our band were playing modern classics in swing/jazz style, and we were able to mingle with our guests with an espresso martini in hand before the dancing kicked off.
We had previously been concerned that moving between the Courtyard and the Manor Hour might feel slightly disjointed but actually this created a brilliant change of scene and made it feel like there were multiple chapters to the day. We loved it.

What would you say to couples thinking about Hampton Manor?
Do it!
Hampton Manor provides the perfect balance of ‘wow’ factor, whilst providing a personalised, intimate setting and service to their wedding couples.
Hampton Manor is so much more than a wedding venue. It is a place you can form a connection with and continue to enjoy for years to come. We are already looking forward to going back!

Any words you’d like to share about your suppliers?
I have to say I feel I had the absolute DREAM team of suppliers.

Georgie provided on the day coordination and planning support in the lead up to the day itself. We reached out to Georgie about 6 weeks before the wedding when we both felt we needed a bit of extra help in getting our ‘To Do List’ down to the next level of detail and when we realised we wanted to have extra support on the day with our wedding being split across two venues.
With Georgie’s guidance, we were all ready exactly on time, feeling so calm and relaxed that we all ended up playing UNOÂ around the kitchen table in all our finery! She was then supporting us throughout the whole day, and as she knows Hampton Manor so well, she works really seamlessly with the rest of the on the day team.
We couldn’t recommend Georgie enough. It’s sometimes hard to explain exactly what a wedding coordinator will do if you haven’t worked with one before, but Jon and I have both reflected after the day that she was worth her weight in gold in terms of ensuring things ran smoothly.
Steve was our videographer. He also knows HM really well. He was supported by Roo on the day who was fab. They captured some amazing footage and again shared a teaser the week after the wedding, so we could reminisce (I watch it on repeat!) Watch the film here.
Another pick from Hampton Manor’s recommended list. Amy was so warm and welcoming and made us feel at ease when we had our first meeting. She knows Hampton Manor really well and also was married there herself! She was brilliant at bringing our vision to life.
Our photographer, Lewis, was brilliant. He was relaxed and calm on the day and fit in really well. We love his style which captures small, candid moments in an arty way. He also shared some preview pictures really quickly after the wedding which we were able to gush over on our honeymoon which we loved!
We wanted our stationary to be fun and personalised. I came across Ofelia on instagram and we knew it was the vibe we wanted. We used her Design in a Day service and it was great
Our amazing evening band! Who kept all our guests on the dance floor all night. Such fun!!
My earrings were the perfect touch! I was undecided for a while but Megan provided design advice over email and matched me with some earring suggestions based on a picture of me in my dress. I was so happy with them!
