A Winter Wedding

What made you chose Hampton Manor?
It started as a small, London town hall wedding and very quickly grew. I grew up in Birmingham and my mum mentioned Hampton Manor as a potential option.
We booked to view the Hampton Manor and instantly knew it was the place for us. We wanted a manor house style venue but what we really loved about Hampton Manor and what stood out from others, was the grandeur of a manor house married with modern, stylish decor throughout the house. With it being a winter wedding, we needed the indoor space to feel warm, cosy and accommodate all guests comfortably. It felt perfect.

What was your favourite moment?
The ceremony was our favourite part of the whole day – it was so emotional and I really didn’t expect that. I truly felt it was just me and Jack in the room and reminded me that it truly was about us on the day and that IS all that matters.

Tell us about the inspiration for the styling of the day
After being to lots of amazing summer weddings over the past few years, I really wanted something a bit different.
I always wanted a winter wedding with candles, lights and classic flowers and the vision really did come alive. We used individual bud vases and added one rose per vase. These littered the table amongst LOADS of candles. Stylish, yet cosy and timeless. As it was a winter wedding, black tie felt fitting and I think it really contributed to the tone and style of the day. Everyone looked beautiful!

Tell us a little about what made you fall in love with your dress?
From the first moment we got engaged, I knew I wanted big sleeves and an aline skirt. I wanted a dress that looked nothing like I had ever worn before and I will probably never wear again- you only get married once after all. As it was a winter wedding I wanted something thick and structured to tie in with the styling and the venue. I wore the Frankie dress by Badgley Mischka . I had booked to visit two wedding dress shops in the Midlands and then two in London the following week but after finding the perfect dress in Birmingham I never visited the London bridal shops. I went dress shopping for four hours and made the decision there and then! I loved the two looks on the day and am so glad I took the sleeves on and off for different parts of the day. From start to finish, everyone I dealt with at TDR (The Dressing Rooms) was brilliant, from the seamstress to the wedding dress packers- they were all friendly, professional and made me feel so special.

Any supplier love you’d like to send?
I feel VERY lucky with all the suppliers. They were all perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to make our day SO memorable. Taylor Hughes Photography exceeded every expectation and more. I look back at the photos weekly and just think ‘I cannot believe this is our wedding’ I feel like the photos are from a movie!
The whole team at Hampton manor are excellent. No ask was too big and they made us feel totally relaxed and at home for the whole weekend. Charlotte, our coordinator, was phenomenal. She had everything under control at all times and I felt totally relaxed in her hands. Everything ran smoothly and her professional yet personable manner cannot be matched!
