I have had a lot of afternoon tea in my time and this was without doubt one of the best I have EVER had. As it was the weekend (when extra items are served) we started with warm canapés – the beetroot and goat’s cheese macaroon was amazing. Then came the cake stand – beautifully arranged with eye catching cakes, 3 types of scones (plain, cheese and fruit) and tasty savouries (far more interesting than your standard finger sandwiches). As if that wasn’t enough – scrummy vanilla milkshakes and homemade custard creams were added to the delicious spread. The scones were ten out of ten – crisp on the outside and light and fluffy within. The highlights for me were the coronation chicken vol au vent and the little passion fruit cornet. Staff were top class too – as two of us had birthdays they decorated two plates with ‘Happy Birthday’ and added a couple of divine chocs. All first class!

Peel’s restaurant is located within Hampton Manor Hotel, and it’s three rosettes does not do justice to both the service and food on offer. The knowledgeable enthusiasm of the staff, the quality of the food and the service is simply outstanding. Without doubt, the combination makes this restaurant the best place I have ever had the privilege to dine in. Even top restaurants in London would be hard pushed to match either the service or food, but none could match the combination. Add to that the desire to have relaxed guests – there is nothing formal or stuffy about this place – you will be equally welcome in DJ or jeans. The tasting menu (seven course personally recommended, and the four course, not yet tried) takes the diner on a journey of wondrous tastes and textures. The quality of even the amuse bouches leaves one wondering why some of them have not made it onto the main menu. You simply cannot do better than this restaurant for a relaxing evening with the best of service and food. Where is their Michelin star? Surely cannot be too far away now.

We had organised a business meeting here, and it exceeded all expectations. The service was prompt and flexible, with staff allowing us space to discuss issues, while still serving and recommended an excellent menu pared with very good wine. From the first contact to the last, it was highly enjoyable and professional. I will be back for sure!

This hotel is spectacular with stunningly designed interiors, especially the beautiful Parlour. We had drinks here before dinner in Peel’s Restaurant – the food was unbelievable (esp amazing BBQ steak!), service very personable and friendly which you sometimes don’t get in other top restaurants, and we had a wonderful night! Very pleased this place is on our doorstep! Looking forward to going back for Afternoon Tea.

I went to Hampton Manor for the evening for a friends 40th recently and loved every minute! It is one of the most spectacular venues I have ever been too. The staff are wonderful and very accommodating, the service is excellent and the food really was to die for! The manor has been lovingly restored with wonderful interior decoration and beautiful grounds. For me, without doubt, it was one of the best party venues I have been to in the UK and I highly recommend it! Thank you Hampton Manor for a wonderful celebration!

I had my wedding reception at Hampton Manor last month, and it really was perfection. The venue and surroundings are stunning, the food is some of the best I’ve ever eaten, and the staff couldn’t do more to help throughout the preparations and on the day itself. Every bedroom in the hotel was used by our guests on the night of the wedding and everyone commented on how nice their rooms were and the bridal suite is amazing!

We look forward to visiting on anniversaries, birthday’s and other special occasions in the future!

This is an outstanding experience. In all my years of eating out, this has to be in the top three for the whole package. It does not do one element well, it does the whole dining experience so well and yet makes it all so understated. The food is exquisite, the service is impeccable and the wine list is perfect. James, the restaurant manager even took the time to show the tasting rooms after dinner. Matthew and Danielle (the sommelier) took the time to demonstrate their enthusiasm for the food and wine respectively that one could be forgiven for imagining that you are the only diners present, such is the attention paid. Brilliant, so much so that I am going for a non-resident breakfast!

From the beautiful setting, warm welcome and great menu and wine choice to the fabulous food, every part of the dining experience was faultless.

I eat out a lot and am very fussy, but this meal and the service was faultless. The restaurant is a must for anyone who likes Michelan-style food (comparable to Purnels/Edmunds) and excellent service in a relaxed country house setting (the restaurant itself is beautiful).
